About Carry the Torch
Carry the Torch is a nonprofit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Texas. Our mission is to honor the legacy of Charlie Kirk by identifying and empowering the next generation of principled young leaders.

Tax-Exempt Status
Federal status: Carry the Torch is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to Carry the Torch are tax-deductible as charitable contributions to the fullest extent allowed by law.
State status: Carry the Torch is a nonprofit corporation in good standing with the Texas Secretary of State. Texas franchise and sales tax exemptions have been applied for under Comptroller Forms AP-204 and AP-205 respectively.
Note to donors: Please retain any receipt or acknowledgment letter you receive from Carry the Torch as documentation for your tax records. For gifts of $250 or more, IRS regulations require a written acknowledgment before you may claim the deduction on your federal return. For guidance specific to your situation, please consult your tax advisor.
How Your Gift Is Used
Donations to Carry the Torch are used to:
- Fund grants through our Next 100 program, supporting young leaders committed to principled civic engagement, constitutional literacy, and free expression
- Make supporting grants to aligned 501(c)(3) organizations whose missions are consistent with our own
- Cover the reasonable operating costs of the Organization, including administration, fundraising, and program oversight
Our Form 990 is made publicly available each fiscal year and provides detailed information about our finances. It may also be accessed on the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search and on GuideStar / Candid.
Donor Rights
We are committed to honoring the rights of every donor. Consistent with the Donor Bill of Rights developed by leading nonprofit associations, you are entitled to:
- Be informed of the Organization's mission, the way the Organization intends to use donated resources, and its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
- Be informed of the identity of those serving on the Organization's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- Have access to the Organization's most recent financial statements (once available).
- Be assured your gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- Receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
- Be assured that information about your donation is handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- Expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
- Be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the Organization, or hired solicitors.
- Have the opportunity for your name to be deleted from mailing lists that the Organization may intend to share.
- Feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers.
Refund Policy
Donations to Carry the Torch are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error (such as a duplicate transaction or incorrect amount), please contact us at giving@carrythetorch.io within 30 days of the transaction. We will review the request in good faith and issue a refund where appropriate.
State-Specific Disclosures
Carry the Torch is incorporated in Texas. Texas does not require charitable organizations to register before soliciting contributions within the state. However, certain other states require nonprofits soliciting donations from their residents to register and provide specific disclosures. Because our website is accessible nationwide, the following disclosures apply where required by law:

New Jersey
